THE BREAKDOWN
HITTING THE RESET
In the last seven seasons, Fresno State has lost back-to-back games to start Mountain West play. The 'Dogs have dropped their conference opener three times, regrouping to tightly contested games on short turnarounds.Â
A continuing trend in recent years, Fresno State once again is one of the top team's in the country in turnovers per game. Committing 11.4 per contest, the Bulldogs rank No. 6 in the NCAA. The 'Dogs finished each of the last two seasons ranked inside the Top 20.
As the conference season is set to begin, that means the next 18 games will determine if Haley Cavinder will earn back-to-back Player of the Year awards after she was selected Preseason POY in October. If the junior's play during the nonconference season has been any indication, she's on that path, leading the league in scoring and rebounding while sitting second in assists per game.

HITTING THE RESET
In the last seven seasons, Fresno State has lost back-to-back games to start Mountain West play. The 'Dogs have dropped their conference opener three times, regrouping to tightly contested games on short turnarounds.Â
- The 'Dogs defeated Nevada in 2015 by one and Air Force in 2017 by six on two days rest, and Colorado State in 2020 by four on less than 24 hours rest. The first two came on the road while the win over CSU was at home.
A continuing trend in recent years, Fresno State once again is one of the top team's in the country in turnovers per game. Committing 11.4 per contest, the Bulldogs rank No. 6 in the NCAA. The 'Dogs finished each of the last two seasons ranked inside the Top 20.
- Prior to the 2019-20 season, Fresno State had not finished the season inside the Top 60 and had finished outside the Top 100 three times since the start of the 2014-15 season.
- No player has won the Mountain West's Freshman of the Year and two Player of the Year awards in three consecutive years since the conference established the Freshman of the Year award in 2008.
