Bulldogs land in sixth place after day two of MW Championship

LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State swimming and diving team finished the second day of the 2021 Mountain West Championship in sixth place with a point of 268.

Nevada finished the day in first place with 499 points with UNLV close behind at 489 points. San Diego State sits in third place with 454 points. Wyoming (358), Colorado State (274), Air Force (169) and San José State (135) round out the standings.

SWIM HIGHLIGHTS

In the 500 Free, Samarah Melia earned the highest finished by a Bulldog chalking an eighth place finish with a time of 5:00.61. Keren Wasserman also earned points in the event finishing 22^nd.
In the 50 Free, Athena Clayson marked a 12^th place finish (23.25) while Tonya Guryeva finished close behind in 15^th (23.68).
In the 400 Medley Relay, Fresno State (Cutler, Wasserman, Hutler, Guryeva) finished in seventh place with a time of 3:49.14.

DIVE HIGHLIGHTS

On the 1-Meter, Yuliya Tykha landed a fifth place finish with a score of 270.30. Silvia Alessio also logged a Top 8 finish with a score of 244.05.
