Fresno State announces expanded attendance policy
4/13/2021 11:10:00 AM | General
Starting April 17, Fresno State Athletics’ outdoor competitive events will be open to the full 20 percent capacity allowed by the State of California, given Fresno County’s status in the red tier.
FRESNO, Calif. – After two weeks of successfully hosting events with spectators in attendance, Fresno State Athletics' outdoor competitive events will open to the full 20 percent capacity level allowed by the State of California, effective April 17.
On March 30, Fresno State Athletics updated its spectator attendance policy to allow event access for the families and guests of Bulldog student-athletes and coaches competing in outdoor spring sports. This decision was made, in conjunction with Governor Newsom's updated COVID-19 policies and with guidance from the Fresno County Department of Public Health, in order to prioritize opportunities for student-athletes and coaches to safely compete with their loved ones in attendance for the first time in over a year.
Additionally, access was intentionally limited to the families and guests of student-athletes and coaches as a way of forging ahead carefully during the spring break time period in the greater Fresno community, as recommended by public health officials.
This updated policy effective April 17, which will expand access to additional spectators up to 20 percent capacity, given Fresno County's status in the red tier, will apply to the Bulldogs' remaining spring competitive home events, specifically in the sports of baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, lacrosse, and track and field, starting with this weekend's home competitions.
For Bulldog Baseball and Softball specifically, a limited number of single game general admission tickets will be sold to the public on a first come first serve basis. All tickets will be $5 and will go on sale Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m. PT for all remaining home games. Each individual will be limited to a maximum of four tickets per game. Tickets will be available for purchase online or by calling the Bulldog Ticket Office at 559-278-DOGS. Please note, no day-of-game walk up sales will be available. As an additional safety measure, all tickets will be delivered electronically via our mobile ticketing platform to your smartphone device.
For men's and women's tennis, lacrosse, and track and field, access to regular season home events will be based on capacity availability and fans will be allowed in while space remains. The MPSF Lacrosse Championships hosted at Fresno State on April 30 and May 1 will be ticketed events, with tickets going on sale April 20.
Per current state guidelines, all spectators must be California residents and will be expected to follow health and safety protocols, including symptom screenings prior to entrance, wearing a mask at all times, and keeping the required social distance between pods of patrons. Please note, no concession offerings will be available this spring season so fans will be allowed to bring their own food and beverages. No alcohol, glass bottles, ice chests or large coolers will be permitted.
Additional information regarding attendance at fall sports, including Bulldog Football, will be released in the near future.
