Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson will enter his name into consideration for the 2021 NBA Draft, but not hire an agent, which preserves his eligibility to return for his junior season with the Bulldogs.
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State sophomore forward Orlando Robinson will enter his name into consideration for the 2021 NBA Draft, while retaining his eligibility to return for his junior season, Robinson announced on his Instagram page on Thursday night.
Â
"In my first two seasons at Fresno State, I've been diligent at working to improve all facets of my game," Robinson said. "In an effort to get even more experiences and feedback from NBA teams, I've decided to enter my name into the NBA Draft and participate in workouts, but not hire an agent. I appreciate all the support of my coaches, teammates, and the Red Wave, as we are building something special and putting in the necessary work this offseason to be ready to go every night."
Â
In his first two seasons at Fresno State, Robinson started all 54 of the team's games – averaging 14.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game as a sophomore during the 2020-21 season.
Â
"Orlando is a real hard-worker," Fresno State head coach Justin Hutson said of Robinson. "We support him in these endeavors as he continues to be evaluated by NBA teams."
Â
This past season, Robinson was honored as a second-team All-Mountain West and NABC All-District 17 selection. He scored a career-high 33 points in the Bulldogs' 81-61 win over Wyoming on Jan. 4 and had a career-best 16 rebounds in a 64-62 overtime win versus New Mexico on Jan. 28.
Â
During his Bulldog career, Robinson has recorded 16 double-doubles, including 11 as a sophomore and five as a freshman.
Â
There are three former Bulldogs currently on NBA rosters – seven-time NBA All-Star Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers), Tyler Johnson (Brooklyn Nets) and Paul Watson (Toronto Raptors) – and 22 NBA Draft selections, which includes five first-round picks.
Â
Robinson had until May 30 to apply as an early entrant and has until July 7 to decide whether or not to withdraw from consideration in the 2021 NBA Draft.
