COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second straight match, Fresno State played to a 1-1 draw, this time coming in its Mountain West opener at Colorado College.
Like last time out, the Bulldogs were forced to come from behind. Jordan Brown had the answer in the 78th minute, her second goal of the year.
How It Happened
Jacqui Hand scored the game's opening goal in the 23rd minute. On a cross from Lily Bryne, the Tiger found Hand sitting on the back post where she bodied the ball across the line to put Colorado College up 1-0.
The 'Dogs nearly leveled the game minutes later, but an offside call negated a ball that found the back of the net. Fresno State trailed at the half.
Six minutes into the second, McCarthy dropped a cross outside the back post, but Chais Wright's attempt was wide of the post. Less than a half hour later, Wright was in on the on Bulldogs' equalizer. With a free kick 10 yards into her half, the junior sent a ball over the top that led Jordan Brown. The senior forward got just ahead of her defender and chipped a shot over Tiger keeper Taryn Benham.
Scoring Summary
22:26 – CC – Jacqui Hand (Lily Byrne)
77:52 – FS – Jordan Brown (Chais Wright)
