Pair of 'Dogs earn MW weekly honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State junior Athena Clayson was tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week and junior Silvia Alessio was named the Mountain West Diver of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
In the pool, Clayson earns the 'Dogs first MW swimmer of the week honor this season after posting a pair of first-place finishes on Friday in the 'Dogs dual win over Pepperdine winning the 100 Free in a season-best time of 52.89 and also won the 100 Back in a time of 57.27. She was also the lead leg of the winning 200 medley and the 200 freestyle relays.
On the diving board, Alessio led the way for Fresno State at the UCLA Diving Invite placing 11th on the 3-Meter with a score of 566.05 on Saturday and was the leading Bulldog on Sunday on the Platform with a score 190.20.
The 'Dogs host UC Davis on Saturday at noon for Senior Day at the Aquatics Center.
