'Dogs earn two wins to start season

The Fresno State women's tennis team opened the Spring 2022 season with three road matches, and also play at Sacramento State on Friday before hosting Saint Mary's on Feb. 2.

SAN DIEGO – The Fresno State women's tennis team opened the spring 2022 season a 2-1 record in three matches this weekend in San Diego.

The 'Dogs competed in three road contests at UC San Diego and Point Loma on Friday, and San Diego on Saturday.

Fresno State (2-1) found sweeping success on Friday with a 7-0 win over UCSD and a 7-0 win over Point Loma -- before falling 6-1 to San Diego on Saturday.
UP NEXT: The Bulldogs will head north to take on Sacramento State on Friday (Jan. 28).

- The Fresno State's women's tennis team took on UCSD, Point Loma and San Diego to start the Spring 2022 season over the weekend.
- In 2021, Fresno State tied for the most overall, as well as the most conference victories by any Mountain West team by going 15-5 overall and 8-2 in MW.
- Fresno State's full 2021-22 roster includes seven returners and two newcomers, who all competed well in a series of tournaments this past fall preparing for the upcoming spring season.
