BULLDOG BONES

Fresno State returns home to host Colorado State on Thursday and Wyoming on Saturday this week.
The Bulldogs are coming off a pair of losses on the road last week falling in straight sets at Boise State and four sets at Utah State.
The 'Dogs are 3-4 at home against Colorado State as members of the MW with wins in 2012, 2018 & 2021.
The Bulldogs are 6-5 at home vs. Wyoming as members of the MW with victories in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018, Spring 2021 & 2021.
Fresno State ranks third in the MW and 42nd nationally in total blocks with 164.0.
The Bulldogs also sit fourth in the MW in total attacks (2,334) and digs (917).
Kasey Purry has been one of the top blockers in the MW ranking third in blocks (78) and blocks per set (1.08).
Sydney Gazzaniga ranks sixth in the MW in digs (238) and 11th in digs per set (3.38).

SCOUTING COLORADO STATE

Colorado State is 12-5 this season with a 5-1 mark in the Mountain West.
The Rams are tied for second in the MW with UNLV and Boise State.
CSU is coming off a weekend split against Nevada and San Jose State sweeping the Wolf Pack and falling in five sets against the Spartans.
The Rams lead the Mountain West and rank 25th in the nation in hitting percentage (.264).
Individually, redshirt junior setter Ciera Pritchard is third in the assists (580) and fourth in assists per set (9.51).

The Cowgirls are tied for sixth in the MW in New Mexico, Nevada and San Diego State.
Wyoming is coming off a pair of losses at home to San Jose State and Nevada last weekend.
The Cowgirls are third in the MW in digs (918), fifth in hitting percentage (.217) & total attacks (2,319).

DOYLE CONTINUES HOT START

Grace Doyle has reached double figure kills in 14 of 18 matches this season.
Doyle ranks fifth in the MW and 66th in the nation in blocks with 74.
She is also seventh in the conference in points (259.5) and eighth in blocks per set (1.03).

WIN THE FIRST SET

The Bulldogs are 6-4 when winning the first set, but 0-8 when dropping the opening set.

OUTHIT THE OPPONENT

The 'Dogs are 6-2 when outhitting their opponent, but 0-10 when trailing or equal.

FIVE SET BATTLES

Six of the Bulldogs' 18 matches this season have gone to five sets this season.
The Bulldogs are 1-5 in five setters with a win over Sacramento State.

GAZZANIGA AMONG MW LEADERS IN DIGS

Sydney Gazzaniga ranks sixth in the MW in digs with 238 for an average of 3.31 digs per set.
The sophomore from Rancho Cucamonga has led the Bulldogs in digs in 12 matches and has reached 10 or more digs in 12 matches.

POSTSEASON

For the second time since 2011, the Mountain West will host a postseason tournament to determine the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament after Boise State claimed the title in 2021.
The top six teams in the regular season will head to Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. on Nov. 23-25.
This will be the 12th postseason tournament having also had a MW Tournament from 1999-2007.
