- Fresno State Athletics is celebrating its centennial year and the 2022 women's tennis season is the 44th season in program history (inaugural season 1978-79).
- Fresno State head coach Denise Dy is now in her second season back home in the Golden State.
- Fresno State (4-1) and BYU (2-5) will meet on Friday in Springville, Utah.
OPENING SERVE
- In its first five matches this spring, Fresno State recorded three 7-0 road sweeps and rallied to beat Saint Mary's College, 5-2.
- Fresno State finished the spring 2021 season ranked in the Top 10 of the ITA Northwest Region rankings.
- In its spring 2021 season, Fresno State tied for the most overall, as well as the most conference victories by any Mountain West team by going 15-5 overall and 8-2 in MW.
- 2021 Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year Dalia Ahmed returns for her senior season.
- Ahmed is one of seven returners for the Bulldogs, who also welcome two newcomers to the roster – Pang Jittakoat, a junior transfer from Washington State (Bangkok, Thailand) and Matilde Magrini (Pesaro, Italy). All nine players competed this fall, which included four tournament appearances throughout California, with many impressive victories.
- Magrini was named the MW Freshman of the Week in early February.
