No. 51 Bulldogs fall at Cal Poly

No. 51 Fresno State had its five-match winning streak snapped after falling 4-0 at Cal Poly on Friday.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- The No. 51-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team lost 4-0 on the road to the Cal Poly Mustangs on Friday afternoon at the Mustang Tennis Complex.
Fresno State (7-2) battled tough in the top doubles match, which featured Pang Jittakoat and Carolina Piferi, yet Cal Poly (5-3) earned the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
The Mustangs used the early momentum to build a solid lead in singles and captured victories in the top three singles contests to clinch the sweep.

- This was the third straight season Fresno State has lost to Cal Poly, but the Bulldogs still own a 23-7 record in their all-time series with the Mustangs.
- Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat is the Mountain West Player of the Week after leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week.
- No. 51 Fresno State has won seven straight home matches dating back to February 2021.
- Fresno State finished the spring 2021 season ranked in the Top 10 of the ITA Northwest Region rankings.
- In 2021, Fresno State went 15-5 overall with an 8-2 record in Mountain West play, which tied for the most overall and conference victories by any MW team in 2021.
