The Fresno State women's tennis team defeated Pacific 6-1 to win its eighth straight home match in Fresno.
FRESNO, Calif. -- The No. 51-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team extended its home winning streak by defeating the Pacific Tigers 6-1 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Copper River Country Club in north Fresno.
Fresno State (8-2) has now won eight straight home matches dating back to February 2021.
How it happened: The 'Dogs secured the doubles point after Pang Jittakoat and Matilde Magrini dispatched Pacific's top duo 6-2 and then turned to Cristina Flaquer and A.C. Hummel, who battled through a 7-3 tiebreak in the third doubles spot to take the advantage into singles.
Fresno State followed that by winning five singles matches to clinch its 23rd all-time win over the Tigers.
A.C. Hummel earned the clinching point at No. 3 singles for the Bulldogs.
NEXT UP: Fresno State will travel to face Cal State Fullerton, Azusa Pacific and CSUN in road contests in Southern California on March 5-6.
