THE BREAKDOWN:
After going 1-1 last week, Fresno State remained in the ITA's Top 75 for the second consecutive week – checking in at No. 59 in Division I. The Bulldogs, who debuted at No. 51 nationally on Feb. 23, are once again the only Mountain West program in the national rankings and one of 10 programs from the state of California in the ITA's Top 75.

MAGRINI THRIVING IN DEBUT SEASON AS BULLDOG
Fresno State freshman Matilde Magrini (Pesaro, Italy) has been named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week twice this season (Feb. 2 and Feb. Feb. 16), which has included strong play by Magrini, who has a 6-3 singles record (combined between No. 1 and No. 2 singles) this season.

Fresno State's rotation features three players from Italy: Matilde Magrini (Pesaro, Italy), Carlotta Nonnis Marzano (Parma, Italy) and Carolina Piferi (Prato, Italy). While Magrini is shining in her first season as a Bulldog, Nonnis Marzano and Piferi are playing well in singles and doubles and opened the season playing together at No. 1 doubles - winning their first two contests. Nonnis Marzano won her first six singles competitions this spring and Piferi enters the weekend on a five-match singles winning streak.

- Fresno State Athletics is celebrating its centennial year and the 2022 women's tennis season is the 44th season in program history (inaugural season 1978-79).
- Fresno State head coach Denise Dy is now in her second season back home in the Golden State.
- The Bulldogs are ranked No. 59 in the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women's Team Rankings, which were released on March 2, 2022.
- Fresno State is off to an 8-2 start through its first 10 matches of the Spring 2022 season.
- Fresno State will travel this weekend to compete in three road matches: Cal State Fullerton (3/5), Azusa Pacific (3/5) and CSUN (3/6).Â
