STANFORD, Calif. – The Fresno State softball team fell to Cal and Stanford on the second day of the Demarini Invitational on Saturday.

The Golden Bears scored the first run of the game in the opening frame off a sacrifice bunt. Cobb-Adams started off the bottom half of the inning with a single to third base, but she would be left stranded after a double play and a groundout ended the inning.
Cal extended its lead to 3-0 in the second inning. Taryn Irigoyen belted her first career double off the center field wall, but the 'Dogs were unable to bring her across home plater after back-to-back ground outs.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Bears recorded four runs on six hits to take an 8-0 lead. Cal plated its final two runs in the next inning. The 'Dogs put up one more hit in the fifth inning, but they were unable to score a run resulting in a run-rule decision.
