No. 68 'Dogs power past Rams, 4-1

No. 68 Fresno State completed a conference-opening weekend sweep by defeating Colorado State on Sunday.
FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 68-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the Colorado State Rams 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
Fresno State (12-3, 2-0 Mountain West) quickly earned the doubles point and later built a 3-0 lead after Cristina Flaquer (No. 3) and Pang Jittakoat (No. 1) closed out the first two singles matches within minutes of each other.
For the second time this weekend, Carolina Piferi delivered the clinching point at No. 6 singles for the Bulldogs, who now own an 11-match home winning streak and a four-match overall winning streak.
Next up: No. 68 Fresno State will host UNLV and San Diego State (who was ranked No. 64 in the most recent ITA rankings) this coming weekend in Fresno at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
Both matches start at 2 p.m. PT with a recognition ceremony for the Bulldogs' senior class scheduled to take place shortly before Sunday's showdown versus SDSU.
