Fresno State remained undefeated in the Mountain West with another strong performance on its home courts.

FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 71-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the UNLV Rebels 4-2 on Saturday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center in Fresno.

Fresno State (13-3, 3-0 Mountain West) took an early lead by winning the doubles point and then used straight-set victories by Pang Jittakoat and Carolina Piferi at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively to take a 3-0 lead.

After UNLV secured a pair of singles points, A.C. Hummel provided the clinching point for the Bulldogs by rallying to win in a three-set thriller at No. 4 singles.

With the win, No. 71 Fresno State enters Sunday's home finale against No. 66 San Diego State on a five-match winning streak in a battle of the two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. Sunday's showdown will start at 2 p.m. PT with a senior recognition ceremony scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. PT.

Fresno State has now won 12 straight home matches dating back to February 2021 (11 at Wathen).
Fresno State has now earned the doubles point in 10 of its 16 matches this season.
In singles, Fresno State's rotation improved to 57-22 (.722) overall with more wins than losses at each slot this season.
As a team, Fresno State also improved to 24-18 in doubles (11-4 at the No. 1 doubles slot) this season.
Fresno State improved to 28-8 overall (11-2 in MW matches) in head coach Denise Dy's two seasons coaching the Bulldogs.
For the sixth consecutive week, the Fresno State women's tennis team is ranked nationally (No. 71) in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat improved to 12-3 in singles matches this season (11-3 at No. 1 singles) and owns a seven-match singles winning streak (all seven in straight sets at the top position).
Fresno State's Carolina Piferi is now on a nine-match singles winning streak with an 11-1 record in singles (8-0 at No. 6 singles).
