No. 71 Bulldogs defeat UNLV, 4-2

Fresno State remained undefeated in the Mountain West with another strong performance on its home courts.
FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 71-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the UNLV Rebels 4-2 on Saturday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center in Fresno.
Fresno State (13-3, 3-0 Mountain West) took an early lead by winning the doubles point and then used straight-set victories by Pang Jittakoat and Carolina Piferi at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively to take a 3-0 lead.
After UNLV secured a pair of singles points, A.C. Hummel provided the clinching point for the Bulldogs by rallying to win in a three-set thriller at No. 4 singles.
With the win, No. 71 Fresno State enters Sunday's home finale against No. 66 San Diego State on a five-match winning streak in a battle of the two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. Sunday's showdown will start at 2 p.m. PT with a senior recognition ceremony scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. PT.

- Fresno State's Carolina Piferi is now on a nine-match singles winning streak with an 11-1 record in singles (8-0 at No. 6 singles).
