Divers head to Zone E Championships

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State divers Silvia Alessio and Yuliya Tykha will represent the Bulldogs at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships set for Monday through Wednesday at Northern Arizona University.

Competing at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz., Alessio, a junior from Trieste, Italy, will compete on the 1-Meter & 3-Meter boards.

Tykha, who has competed in the last two Zone E Diving Championships, is coming off a runner-up finish on the 1-Meter and a fifth-place finish on the Platform at the Mountain West Championships two weeks ago and will compete in those two events as well as the 3-Meter this week.

A native of Zaporozhye, Ukraine, Tykha finished 16th on both the 1-Meter & 3-Meter last season at the Zone E Championships and placed ninth on the Platform in 2020 qualifying for the NCAA Championships that were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
