Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson and Anthony Holland earned All-MW recognition in the 2022 MW Media Poll.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fresno State's Orlando Robinson and Anthony Holland were voted All-Mountain West by a select panel of journalists from each of the league's 11 media markets.
Robinson (19.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.3 bpg and 1.1 spg) and Holland (9.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.6 apg, 48-for-102 3FG [47.1 percent]) helped lead the Bulldogs to their seventh top six MW finish in the last eight seasons.
Robinson received the second-most votes in the All-Mountain West voting (and two of the 11 votes for Defensive Player of the Year), which was conducted independent of MW oversight by media directly covering teams in all 11 league markets. In markets where more than one outlet covers a team closely, beat reporters from competing outlets submitted a joint ballot, giving each market one vote.
Robinson (first team) and Holland (honorable mention) are both in their third seasons playing for head coach Justin Hutson and the Bulldogs.
Media voters ranked players 1 through 15 for first-, second- and third-team All-MW with the top player getting 15 points and on down to the 15th ranked player receiving one point. The official MW all-conference honors will be released later this week, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Fresno State opens the 2022 MW Basketball Championships with San Jose State on Wednesday at 4 p.m. PT in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network (online) and Bulldog Sports Network (radio).
