Robinson named All-MW First Team

LAS VEGAS – Fresno State's Orlando Robinson was named to the 2021-22 All-Mountain West First Team and Defensive Team, the conference announced on Tuesday from Las Vegas.

Robinson, who averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists (and nearly a block and steal) per game during MW play, is the third Bulldog to earn postseason All-MW first honors and fourth Bulldog selected to the Mountain West's Defensive Team since Fresno State joined in the MW in 2012.

Fresno State opens the 2022 MW Basketball Championships with San Jose State on Wednesday at 4 p.m. PT in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network (online) and Bulldog Sports Network (radio).

ROBINSON RISING IN THIRD SEASON AT FRESNO STATE

Through games played on March 7, Fresno State's Orlando Robinson was eighth in KenPom's 2022 Player of the Year Standings with a 1.419 kPOY rating.
With 1,290 career points, Orlando Robinson (19.2 ppg/8.2 rpg) enters the MW Championships ranked 21st on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list and 10 points away from becoming the 20th to score 1,300 or more in program history.
Robinson has scored at least 15 points in 25 of his last 31 games.
Robinson has scored double figures in 35 of his last 38 games.
Robinson was named to the Mid-Season Watch List for the 2021-22 Lute Olson National Player of the Year.
Robinson was named to the Midseason Team for the 2022 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Player of the Year.
Robinson earned 2021-22 All-MW first team honors from both the coaches and a select MW media panel.
Robinson is the third Bulldog to earn postseason All-MW first-team honors (Marvelle Harris – 2015 & 2016, Deshon Taylor – 2018 & 2019).
Robinson is the fourth Bulldog to be named the Mountain West's Defensive Team (Marvelle Harris – 2015 & 2016, Jaron Hopkins – 2017, Deshon Taylor – 2018 & 2019).
Robinson is a communication major at Fresno State.
