Fresno State's Jordan Campbell swished in the game-winner with 0.6 seconds remaining in overtime.
LAS VEGAS – The No. 6-seeded Fresno State men's basketball team defeated the No. 11-seeded San Jose State Spartans 69-67 in overtime in the first round of the 2022 Mountain West Championships on Wednesday in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Fresno State (19-12) fended off San Jose State (8-23) behind another dominant performance by All-MW first-team honoree Orlando Robinson, who finished with a game-high 31 points, and big shots and stops down the stretch - especially Jordan Campbell's game-winning smooth floater with 0.6 seconds remaining in overtime.
The Bulldogs overcame a cold-shooting night from the perimeter with its defense and poise in a game that neither team led by more than five points at any point.
The win lifts Fresno State into the MW quarterfinals for the ninth time in its first 10 seasons in the conference.
