NJCAA First Team All-American Jordan Brinson returns home to the state of California to play for the Bulldogs starting in the 2022-23 season.
FRESNO, Calif. – Jordan Brinson has committed to play for the Fresno State men's basketball program, head coach Justin Hutson announced on Thursday.
Â
The decision brings Brinson – a 2021-22 NJCAA Division I First Team All-American – back to his home state of California after helping lead Salt Lake Community College to a 35-2 record, including a NJCAA runner-up finish and the Scenic West Athletic Conference and Region 18 crowns. Salt Lake also opened the season on a 28-game winning streak and spent the vast majority of the year ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Â
A native of Inglewood, Calif., Brinson averaged 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as Salt Lake's leading scorer this past season.
Â
Brinson, a versatile 6-foot-3 guard, was also named as the Region 18 'Most Valuable Player', alongside earning multiple sets of Scenic West weekly honors.
Â
"We are very excited to add a caliber of winner like Jordan to our program," Hutson said of Brinson. "Not only does he fit into our culture, he adds to it. Jordan's versatility will set him apart."
Â
Brinson is the second addition to the Bulldogs' roster for the 2022-23 season, which also includes San Joaquin Memorial's record-setting Joseph Hunter.Â
