FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State volleyball team and head coach Jonathan Winder announced the additions of Meghan Lynch and Olivia Keller to the program for the fall 2022 season on Wednesday.
Meghan Lynch
Position:Â Setter
Height: 5-8
Hometown:Â Burbank, Calif.
High School:Â John Burroughs HS
Graduating this spring from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Lynch was a part of leading the Bears to four Pacific League championships.
Lynch earned both first-team all-league honors and was named the Player of the Year in the Pacific League as a senior. In addition, she was named a team captain and totaled 750 assists in her time as a prep.
Lynch chose the Bulldogs after enjoying the atmosphere around the athletic program and overall school spirit at Fresno State.
Winder on Lynch:
"We are fortunate to have Meghan be a part of our program. She is a great teammate, super coachable, and a joy to be around. She's been playing for a few years now in a program we are very familiar with and know she's going to be ready to contribute in our gym right away. She's a talented setter who can run a fast offense and move the ball around. When she's setting, everyone seems to be hitting at a better level than before. We can't wait to have Meghan here in Fresno!"Â
Olivia Keller
Position:Â Outside Hitter
Height:Â 6-1
Hometown:Â Modesto, Calif.
Previous School: Cal Poly
High School: Gregori HS (Modesto)
A native of Modesto, Keller arrives in Fresno after redshirting last fall at Cal Poly. Graduating a semester early from Gregori High School in Modesto in December 2020, Keller earned Central California Athletic League honors as a junior in 2019.
Keller spent her first two years of high school at nearby Beyer High School where she earned All-Conference honors and helped lead the Patriots to a 13-1 league mark and a conference championship in 2018.
Keller was named a two-time underclassman All-American and helped lead Gregori to the second round of the state tournament for the first time in school history.
Keller also shined brightly in the classroom in her time as a prep being named an academic scholar during her time in high school.
She chose Fresno State for its supportive environment, coaching staff and team culture.
Winder on Keller:
"I've known Liv for a few years now and always loved her competitive fire, strong arm swing and ability to pass. So when she decided to transfer, I knew it would be a great opportunity to get her back representing the Valley and in a position where she thrived throughout her career. She's a gritty, hard working person who I know will represent Fresno State really well on and off the court. Her ability to pass, defend and attack will greatly help our program for many years to come. Additionally, I know her presence will continue to improve the competitive spirit on our team."
Lynch and Keller join Addison Haluska (Gilbert, Ariz.), Jenna Legault (Bothell, Wash.) and Shaylee Myers (Lincoln, Neb.)Â as newcomers in the fall.
