'Dogs selected ninth in Mountain West preseason poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State's volleyball was picked to finish ninth in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll which was released Wednesday afternoon.
Coming off a seventh-place finish in the Mountain West last season, the Bulldogs finished 8-10 in conference place tying with Wyoming.
Reigning Mountain West co-champion Colorado State was picked to win the league title and garnered six of 11 first-place votes. Reigning co-champion Utah State was picked second and earned three first-place votes with Boise State and San José State tying for third with each garnering one first-place vote apiece.
New Mexico was selected fifth followed by UNLV in sixth, Wyoming in seventh and the poll was rounded out by San Diego State, Fresno State, Air Force and Nevada.
EXHIBITION ONE WEEK AWAY
Fresno State will take on Charleston Southern in its lone exhibition of the season next Wednesday (Aug. 24) at 3 p.m. PT at Buccaneer Fieldhouse.
SEASON ON THE HORIZON
The Bulldogs open the season two days later at the College of Charleston Invitational taking on the host Cougars, Rutgers and The Citadel on Aug. 26-27.
