OUTLOOK FROM HEAD COACH JASON DRAKE
"We are coming off a solid two-week training block and are excited to get back to racing. This is a new meet for us, so we are excited to check it out. It is always nice to have the opportunity to run on grass."
"Our men continue to be short handed with Juanathan (Reyes) and Sam (Hawley) now out this weekend. These guys make us a lot better so hopefully they return to the line up in two weeks."
"Youth is still the theme of our team. All the women on our roster are currently freshmen or sophomores, and our men will run one senior and all newcomers this week."
A LOOK BACK
Running her first 6K with the Bulldogs since her return home, Corie Smith jumped to 17th on the school's all-time list at the UCR Invitational. Smith's time of 21:47.5 is the third-fastest 6K debut by a Bulldog in the last decade. Like Smith, who led the women in both meets this year, Mohamed Saleh again led the men's team in Riverside, completing the 8K in 25:36.7.
GROWING FROM WITHIN THE VALLEY
Of Fresno State's 16 cross country athletes, 14 of them call the Central Valley home. Both the men's and women's team have seven each from the Valley.

- The 2022 team is comprised of seven underclassmen and one junior (Jauregui).
- A veteran squad in 2021, the Bulldogs return just three athletes from last year's team but the trio of Sam Hawley, Juanathan Reyes and Mohamed Saleh bring plenty of experience.
