'Dogs sit in third after second day in Utah

ST. GEORGE, Utah- With a total of 391.5 points the 'Dogs are sitting in third place to close out Day 2 of the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational.Â
Aliz Kalmar breaks a program record in the 100 breaststroke for the second time in her career. Kalmar broke the 100 breaststroke program record last season with a time of 1:01.14, dropping the new record to 1:01.09. Kalmar is currently ranked No.1 in the MW's performance list for the 100 breaststroke.Â
Fresno State finished the second day of the Trailblazer Invitational, improving on with six swimmers qualifying into the A final; Julia Matney (100 butterfly), Mackenzie Hutler (100 butterfly), Aliz Kalmar (100 breast), Jenna Pulkkinen (100 breast), Sera Hanagan (400 IM) and Wiktoria Dabrowska (200 freestyle).
"We struggled this morning but rebounded (for finals). Wiktoria, Julia and Aliz had great swims and the 400 IM'ers did a great job." said head coach Jeanne Fleck, " I'm very impressed with the freshman, they are really coming into their own."Â
In Flagstaff, sophomore Grace Ally placed third in the women's 1-meter consolation final with 243.80 points.Â
Final day of the Utah Tech Invitational begins at 9 a.m. PT Â live coverage on WAC International. Divers will start the second day of the NAU Lumberjack Invitational on the 3-meter.Â
