'Dogs set to compete in ISCA Open

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State swim team is heading to Virginia this week to compete in the ISCA Open, from Nov. 29-Dec.2 at the Liberty University Natatorium.Â
This four day prelims-finals long course meet will be held at Liberty University's Natatorium in Lynchburg, VA. Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. ET/ 6 a.m. PT and finals will begin at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT. This is a non-scoring meet, that will feature collegiate and non-collegiate swimmers.Â
Aliz Kalmar will be the lone 'Dog at the ISCA Open this week, as Kalmar is swimming for a chance to qualify for the Doha World Championships in February and Olympic Trials this summer.Â
Kalmar will see her first race of the day on Friday with the 100 breast and second race on Saturday for the 200 breast. Kalmar is coming off a 1:01.09 (SCY) 100 breast program record, which she swam at the Utah Tech Invite and was recently selected as the Mountain West Swimmer of the week on Nov. 7, 2023.Â
