’Dogs secure second ranked win in challenging start

FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 65-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team continued its challenging start to the 2023 spring season and secured its second win over a nationally ranked opponent this month.
This weekend, Fresno State (3-5) went 1-1 – opening with a 5-2 loss to No. 69 Washington State on Friday before defeating No. 70 Cal Poly 5-2 on Sunday to close the home-opening nonconference matches.
Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat recorded a 3-0 mark in the two contests, which included pairing with Matilde Magrini to defeat WSU's top doubles duo in an epic No. 1 doubles tiebreaker and then also winning in straight sets at No. 1 singles in both matches.
The Bulldogs next travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on No. 38 Oregon in Eugene on Saturday.
