FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State head men's basketball coach Vance Walberg added two more additions to his roster in Division I transfers Elijah Price and Mor Seck on Thursday.
Sek played his first two collegiate seasons at Hawai'i, appearing in 48 games, averaging 3.1 points and 2.8 rebounds and 0.9 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game. As a freshman, he ranked fourth in Big West play in blocks per game with 1.05. That season, in his first career start against UC Irvine, Sek posted 14 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. He saw his sophomore season cut short due to injury while averaging 4.0 points, 2.9 rebounds 1.1 blocks per outing.
"We are happy to announce the signing of Mor Seck. He has one of those infectious personalities that the Bulldog family will love," Walberg said. "His basketball abilities are equally impressive in that he is a big time defender who can block shots with both hands while also being able to move his feet on the perimeter with his size. He told our staff that no lobs are too high for him to catch which we love! He has a really bright future with his continued work ethic."
The 7-foot-1, 255-pound center is a native of Ngayene Daour, Senegal. He came to the States as a high school freshman, playing at DME Academy in Florida, Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco and Prolific Prep in Napa before attending Hawai'i. Seck averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks at Prolific, helping his team advance to the semifinals of the 2022 Geico Nationals after finishing 14-1 in the regular season. As a junior at Archbishop Riodan, Seck led the Crusaders to the Central Coast Section championship game while averaging 13.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Price redshirted his first season at Drake before moving back to California to join the Bulldogs. Prior to playing one season for Golden State Prep, the 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward was a two-time First Team Division 1 All-CIF selection during his time at St. Anthony's High School. In his final season, he averaged a double-double at 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.
"Elijah is the true definition of a Swiss Army knife," Walberg said. "He comes from a basketball background in which his dad coached at St. Anthony's. There are not too many things on the basketball floor that he can't do. He blocks shots, is a good passer, can make an outside shot, and he causes mismatches for slower defenders on the perimeter. He redshirted this past season at Drake and gained 20 pounds which helped a lot for this level. It shows that he's a guy that is a competitor and wants to get better everyday. We are excited for what's to come for him!"
Price was also named Second Team Open Division All-CIF during his career. He was a three-time First Team All-Del Rey League honoree and earned a spot on the Long Beach Press Telegram Dream Team. Price was tabbed the Long Beach Century Club Basketball Player of the Year.
