10/18/2025 7:45:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Fresno State dropped a straight-set match (21-25, 20-25, 12-25) to San Jose State on Saturday afternoon inside Spartan Gym.
The Bulldogs (5-14, 1-7 MW) battled closely through the opening two sets before the Spartans (9-10, 4-4 MW) pulled away late in the third.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State came out strong, with Haluska and Gabby Lombardi connecting early to keep the Bulldogs even through the midway point. After trailing 18-17, the Spartans used a late run fueled by a pair of service aces to close out the first set. Haluska tallied seven kills in the opener, while the Bulldogs hit .250 as a team.
The Bulldogs continued to push the pace in the second set, trading points in another tight frame that featured eight ties. Haluska stayed hot with six more kills, and Addison Williams and Madison Pulsipher added offensive support at the net. However, San Jose State's serving pressure made the difference late as the Spartans finished the set on a 6-1 run.
Momentum carried for the Spartans into the third, as Fresno State struggled to find rhythm offensively. Haluska and Jenna Legault provided bright spots, but San Jose State hit .333 in the frame to complete the sweep.
