LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Fresno State volleyball team opened strong with a gritty first-set win but couldn't maintain the momentum, falling 3–1 (27–25, 21–25, 27–29, 14–25) to Wyoming on Saturday afternoon at the UniWyo Sports Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening set was a back-and-forth battle featuring 10 ties and three lead changes. Fresno State trailed 21–23 before rallying behind a pair of kills from Legault and a key block by Washington and Haluska to earn the 27–25 win.
The Bulldogs jumped ahead early in the second set, leading 13–7, but Wyoming responded with an 11–3 run to swing the momentum. Despite Haluska's five kills in the frame, the Cowgirls closed it out 25–21 to even the match.
The third set was another thriller. The Bulldogs erased a late deficit to tie it at 23 and fought off two set points, but Wyoming ultimately edged ahead 29–27. Bitter and Legault each tallied five kills in the set.
