Bulldogs place third, set four program records at Trailblazer Invite

ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Fresno State swim & dive team broke three relay records along with a program record to accompany their third place finish at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invite at the HPC Pool on Saturday night.Â
Fresno State set three new relay records during the weekend in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay - all swam by Mackenzie Miller Lung, Sienna Cheng-Lucey, Hayley Oke and Jenna Pulkkinen. Miller Lung also broke the program record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.92.Â
How it happenedÂ
Fresno State held strong all weekend long staying within the top three of the invitational.Â
The relay group of Cheng-Lucey, Miller Lung, Oke and Pulkkinen were a force to be reckoned with setting new program records in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay. Fresno State placed second in the 200 medley relay (1:37.95) and third in the 200 free (1:31.44) & 400 medley (3:36.84) relay.Â
The breaststroke group stood out amongst the rest as seven Bulldogs qualified into the 200 breaststroke finals. The trio of Lung, Kalmar and Pulkkinen were the top three seeds going into finals. Much to prelims, the three 'Dogs took the podium spots. Miller Lung took the event win with a time of 2:08.64, dropping 2.8 seconds. Kalmar touched for second (2:11.14) and Pulkkinen rounded out for third with a time of 2:11.42.Â
Five Bulldogs qualified into the 100 breaststroke finals, four taking spots in the championship final. Miller Lung earned the event win and bested her previous program record time, touching for a time of 57.92.Â
The freshman standout Oke, saw three championship final appearances over the weekend in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle. The freshman saw a meet high third place finish in the 100 butterfly touching for a time of 54 flat.Â
Kalmar led the team in points after qualifying into the championships finals in all four individual events. The senior earned her best finish in the 200 breaststroke taking second and did not see a finish lower than fifth. Kalmar took fourth in both IM events.Â
