FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno State swim and dive team will host CSU Bakersfield in their final home meet of 2025 at the Fresno State Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon. The dual meet will stream live on the Mountain West Network.Â
Bulldog BonesÂ
Mackenzie Miller Lung earned her second Mountain West Swimmer of the Week honor this season. The senior grabbed the honor after another stellar performance in the pool.Â
Miller Lung now holds the program and Aquatics Center in the 100 & 200 breaststroke events, both times earning her an NCAA qualification standard.Â
Miller Lung's 100 breaststroke time (58.33) is a new all-time MW record that was previously held by Klara Thormaim (SDSU, 2021), that time also marks the fastest in the Mountain West and the 10th fastest in the nation this season. Her 200-yard breaststroke time ranks fastest in the MW and third-fastest in the nation this season
The last Bulldog to earn multiple weekly honors in one season was in 2021-22 with Athena Clayson (2), Manuela Mendolicchio holds the record with three weekly honor recognitions (2018-19).Â
Records fallÂ
Ten records fell between Fresno State and Nevada in last weekend's dual meet. Bulldogs' owned four of those while the Wolf Pack collected six.Â
Fresno State saw three record holders with Miller Lung leading the way on two events. The senior breaststroker earned her first individual record as a Bulldog with a program and Aquatics Center record in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.Â
The sophomore Ryley Clark battled hard in the pool to grab the six-year Aquatics Center record in the 200 backstroke from Ugne Mazutaityte (2019-20). Clark managed to touch with .18 to spare for the new record on a time of 1:57.01.Â
Jenna Pulkkinen is no stranger to breaking records, except this time it was not in a breaststroke event. The junior now owns the program record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.70, breaking another six-year-old record from Athena Clayson (49.81, 2019-20). The 100 freestyle is the only current standing record for Pulkkinen thus far.Â
See you next yearÂ
This Saturday's home meet against CSU Bakersfield will be the last time the Bulldogs are at the Aquatics Center to host until Jan. 24 for senior night against UC Davis. Â
Bulldogs will compete in the mid-season invite at Utah Tech as November closes while the divers will see action at the Trojan Diving Invite (Nov. 20-22) and the Riverside Invite (Dec. 19-20). After early December the Bulldogs won't be back into the competition pool until the new year at Pepperdine (Jan. 9).Â
