Bulldogs drop first road match in Provo
2/22/2025 3:01:00 PM | Women's Tennis
PROVO, Utah - The Fresno State women's tennis team marked their first loss on the road this season at BYU on Saturday morning at the BYU indoor tennis courts, 7-0.Â
How it happened
BYU quickly got to work taking the double point. Eliza Dunbar and Charlotte Gisclon dropped the doubles match to Levelston/Tulis six games to one. Matile Magrini and Paulina Montiel were on track to force a tie break set but fell to Kovick/Bluestein (6-4) to hand the Cougars the doubles point.Â
BYU made quick work of collecting the rest of the available points in singles. BYU won all the singles matches in two sets. Montiel was the Bulldog to win the most games against a Cougar with four games in the first set and three in the second set.  Sofia Pizzoni and Yinglak Jittakoat reached four games in the second set, but it wasn't enough to force a third set.Â
Up next:Â Fresno State continues their time on the road with a stop at UC San Diego on Friday, Mar. 7 for another early morning match at 10 a.m. PT.Â
