HOUSTON - The Fresno State swim and dive team earned a podium finish at the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships. Fresno State finished in third place with 1,022 points, marking the best finish in program history since joining the Mountain West in 2013.Â
Fresno State's final day featured two more podium appearances and two new program records. Jenna Pulkkinen and Aliz Kalmar returned to the podium in the 200 breaststroke, for a two-three finish, respectively. Both swimmers missed out on last year's podium placement on a fourth (Pulkkinen) and fifth (Kalmar) place finish.Â
The 400 freestyle relay set a new program record by 1.3 seconds after winning the second heat. Wiktoria Dabrowska keeps her name on the record breaking relay and is joined by Pulkkinen, Julia Matney and Ryley Clark. Kalmar shortened the 200 breaststroke program record in the preliminary session with a time of 2:08.38.Â

Samantha Arredondo and Madison Caserio qualified into the consolation heat and Katie Ueda in the bonus. In finals, Pulkkinen clocked a second-place time of 2:09.53, while Kalmar finished one-hundredth of a second later (2:09.54) to fill out the top three. Both times marked NCAA 'B' Standards.Â
