'Dogs continue win streak in Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State softball team extended its winning streak to nine games with a 5-3 comeback victory over UNLV on Friday night at Eller Media Stadium.
The Bulldogs (18-9, 4-0 MW) and the Rebels (16-13, 1-3 MW) each recorded nine hits in the game. Fresno State had three players with multiple hits, led by Alyssa Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Three pitchers saw action for the Bulldogs. Key-Annah Campbell-Pu'a threw 4.1 innings to earn her fifth win of the season, while Faith Jordan closed out the game to secure her fourth save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rebels took an early lead in the second inning, scoring 3 runs on five hits.
After recording two hits through the first three innings, the Bulldogs found their offensive rhythm in the fourth, plating three runs on three hits. Kennedy Bunker led off the inning with a single up the middle, followed by Lauren Almeida's double to right field. Alyssa Ramirez kept the momentum going with an RBI single to left field, making it three consecutive hits for Fresno State. Back-to-back RBI ground outs tied the game 3-3.
Key-Annah Campbell-Pu'a, who took over the circle in the second inning, retired 11 straight batters.
Fresno State took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring two runs on three hits. Madison Rey led off with a single up the middle, and Natalie Elias followed with an infield single to put runners on the corners. Kennedy Bunker then executed a sacrifice fly to center field, giving the 'Dogs the lead. Alyssa Ramirez added an RBI single, extending Fresno State's lead to 5-3.
