'Dogs close regular season with trip to TCU, Oklahoma State

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team turns its focus back to Big 12 competition this weekend, closing out the regular season with a pair of conference meets at TCU and Oklahoma State. This weekend's competitions will help determine the seeding for the Big 12 Championship, set for March 28-29 in Burleson, Texas.Â

- Fresno State closes out the regular season with a trip to TCU and Oklahoma State this weekend.
- The Bulldogs are 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play this year.
- Fresno State just suffered its first loss of the spring season in an 11-9 loss to South Carolina at home. The loss snapped Fresno State's four-meet win streak that was the second-longest in program history.
- Fresno State had its longest win streak since the 2014-15 season.
- Fresno State has conference wins over Oklahoma State and Baylor. The Bulldogs previously defeated Oklahoma State in a 9-9 raw score tiebreaker at home to close out the fall season.
- Following the loss to South Carolina, Fresno State dropped to No. 8 in the NCEA national dual discipline team rankings.
- Fresno State has not defeated TCU since Oct. 2, 2021, and have not defeated TCU on the road since Feb. 21, 2020.
- If the Bulldogs defeat Oklahoma State on Saturday, it would be the first time in series history that Fresno State defeated the Cowgirls in back-to-back meetings.
Western 'Dogs
- Fresno State is 57-44-8 in the western events this season.
- The Bulldogs have 29 reining wins and 28 horsemanship wins.
- Last time out, the Bulldogs swept the western MOPs as Kendra Lee won her second in-a-row in the horsemanship and Brogan Hill earned her second of the season in the reining.
- Lee leads the team (entire roster, not just horsemanship or western) with eight wins. She has an 8-2-1 record, for her most wins in a season in her career.
- Lee also has a team-high four MOPs this season, including the last two meets.
- True freshman Hailey Olson has rode strong in her collegiate debut, owning a 5-4-2 overall record with one MOP honor. The young Bulldog rode for an event-high 76 last time out.
- In the reining, sophomore Alana Becker leads the group with seven wins. Becker is on a current four-meet win streak, and has not lost this spring.
- Hill earned the reining MOP last time out with a season-best 72.
Jumping Seat 'Dogs
- Fresno State is 59-44-3 overall in the jumping seat events.
- The Bulldogs have 31 fences wins and 28 flat wins.
- Fresno State has earned 14 jumping seat MOPs this season, led by Paris Mahoney with three in the fences and two in the flat.
- Mahoney leads both events with seven wins in each.
- In just her first year, her three flat MOPs are already the sixth-most by a player in their career at Fresno State.
- Fellow freshman Paloma Primavera also adds seven wins and two MOPs in the fences.
- Against South Carolina, Primavera got the chance to compete against her older sister Bella who is a fences rider for the Gamecock. The sister duo got the luck of the draw, and competed against each other. The SI article can be found here.
- In the flat, Molly Stewart has had a big season as she owns a 7-4-0 record on the year. Last time out, she rode for a career-high 88 in the event.
- Stewart also competes in the fences, and has a 5-5-0 record there. She also set a new career-high with an 88 against South Carolina.
