FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State head women's golf coach Lisa Ferrero has announced she is exploring opportunities outside of Fresno State and will not return as the head coach of the program.
"We appreciate Lisa's efforts during her time leading our program," said Director of Athletics Garrett Klassy. "Our focus now is on identifying a championship-level head coach who will elevate Fresno State women's golf, prioritize the student-athlete experience, and compete for titles on and off the course."
Ferrero led the Bulldogs for four seasons, helping elevate the program. Under her leadership, Fresno State achieved its best-ever finish at a Mountain West Championship, placing third in 2022. During her tenure, the Bulldogs set two program records and claimed two individual tournament titles.
Under Ferrero's guidance, Harriet Lynch earned All-Mountain West honors and qualified for an individual appearance at the NCAA Regional in 2023.
Academically, the program thrived, with 12 student-athletes named WGCA All-American Scholars, 11 earning Mountain West All-Academic honors, and 10 recognized as Mountain West Scholar-Athletes during her time at the helm.
A national search for the next women's golf head coach at Fresno State will begin immediately.
