Bulldogs sweep Roadrunners

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team swept CSU Bakersfield in three tightly contested sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) on Friday afternoon at The Nest. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 4-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State jumped out to an early lead behind kills from Jenna Legault and Brooklyn Washington, but CSU Bakersfield responded to tie the frame midway through. Strong serving from Alivia Schneider, including back-to-back aces, helped the Bulldogs regain control. Legault had 6 kills in the opening set, and Fresno State closed it out, 25-21.
The second set was another back-and-forth battle with three ties and three lead changes. Schneider and Haluska combined for nine kills, while Gabby Lombardi spread the offense with eight assists. Fresno State held off a late surge from the Roadrunners, sealing the frame 25-22 on a Bakersfield attack error.
CSU Bakersfield challenged the Bulldogs with nine ties in the final set, but Fresno State's block proved to be the difference. Washington and Haluska combined for key points at the net, while Haluska and Washington each tallied multiple kills down the stretch. Peyton Bitter capped the sweep with the final kill, giving the Bulldogs a 25-22 victory.
