Bulldogs Swept by Anteaters on Friday Night

IRVINE, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team was swept by UC Irvine on Friday evening at the Bren Events Center.
The Bulldogs move to 2-3 on the season, while the Anteaters improve to 2-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State erased a small early deficit in the opening set and used a successful challenge to take the lead midway through. UC Irvine fought back to even the score at 18 and gained momentum late, pulling away for a 25-22 win.
The Anteaters carried that momentum into set two, holding the advantage for much of the frame. Fresno State battled back to tie it at 22 and eventually took a brief 24-23 lead, but three straight Bulldog errors gave UC Irvine the 26-24 victory.
In the third set, the Bulldogs opened with a 2-0 lead before the Anteaters took control. UC Irvine outhit Fresno State .235 to .071 and tallied 13 kills to close out the match with a 25-15 decision.
NOTES
- Addison Haluska paced the Bulldogs with 10 kills, hitting .226.
- Fresno State has now been swept in three straight matches for the first time since 2022.
