FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team will open the spring portion of their schedule in Arizona competing in the N.I.T., hosted by Arizona, at Omni Tucson National Resort from Jan. 26- 27.

THE FIELD
The 13-team field includes Arizona, BYU, Cal, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Howard, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Texas, Texas at El Paso, and Wyoming.

NOTES
- Fresno State will be competing in the N.I.T. for the third time in program history
- The Bulldogs finished 11th/14 last season in the tournament
- Fresno State's best finish in the tournament came in 2023 when the 'Dogs finished 7th/18
- Fresno State opens the spring portion of their schedule at the N.I.T. for the third straight year

LAST TIME

WHO'S BACK
Fresno State will have four returners from last season
Chris Bettencourt competed in nine tournaments and posted a season scoring average of 72.9. He started his collegiate career last season by winning the Southern Dunes Invitational, shooting a 13-under. He became just the second Bulldog to win the opening tournament of his career.
Jake Bettencourt will make his return to the course after suffering season-ending injuries in back-to-back seasons.
Jaden Hunter competed in all 11 tournaments for the Bulldogs last season and posted a scoring average of 73.1. He had a season-best 14th place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational, shooting 3-under 210.
James Watney competed in nine tournaments during his first season with the Bulldogs and recorded a 72.3 season scoring average. Watney had a season-best second place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational where he carded a 9-under while also finishing with three top 25 finishes.
WHO'S NEW
Fresno State will welcome four newcomers this season, including two freshmen and two sophomores.
Von Wasson transferred to Fresno State from UC Riverside. During his freshman season, Wasson posted a 73.4 scoring average, had a season best 5th place finish at Pacific's Stockton CC, and finished 10th in the Van Harte OC Intercollegiate.
Zack Tarter transferred to Fresno State from UC Davis where he earned an All-Big West Honorable Mention his freshman year. Tarter secured three top-20 finishes last season including a 3rd place finish at the Big West Championship where he shot 8-under 208.
Freshman Akira Ransi, who graduated from Folsom High School (Folsom, CA), and freshman Nash Arthurs are set to begin their collegiate careers with Fresno State.
