Keepin' it in the family
The current Bulldog roster has a handful of familiar names on it. Isabella Bertozzi enters her third season with the Bulldogs as the younger sister of former Bulldog standout Ana Bertozzi. Freshmen Lucia Nunes, Lilly Gilson and Addison Mathias are all following in the footsteps of their older sisters. Lucia, the younger sister of current Bulldog Mia Nunes, gets to share the experience with her sister for one year. Gilson is the younger sister of former Bulldog reiner Shea Gilson (2016-20) while Mathias is the younger sister of Grace Mathias who completed her final year of eligibility last season.
Â
Stability in the lineup
As a team, Fresno State graduated seven seniors a season ago, but lost just four consistent riders in Kendra Lee and Ella Storch in horsemanship, Yasmin Roman in flat and Olivia Ferro in fences. The Bulldogs return their entire lineup from last season in the reining, a group which combined for 31 wins.
Â
A trio of riders had seven wins to pace the team in Alana Becker, Alison Heupel and Brogan Hill.
