PULLMAN, Wash. - The Fresno State tennis team suffered a loss against Washington State on Friday afternoon at Hollingbery Fieldhouse, 4-0.
How it happened
Fresno State looked to start off on the right foot in doubles play but the Cougars held the upper hand. Doubles duo Eliza Dunbar and Sofia Pizzoni got the closest to a match win up five games to two, but the Cougars pair's on courts one and two grabbed the point.
Singles play fell the same way as the match would be played till clinched at four points. Washington State grabbed the win on the first three courts in two sets. Dunbar's match was left unfinished in the second set, while Klara Vukicevic and Louna Cormier's matches were left unfinished in the first set. Vukicevic was up two games to none against her opponent before the match was called.
Up next: Fresno State (3-1, 0-0 MW) takes on Eastern Washington (1-1, 0-0 BS) in a neutral site meeting on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. PT.
