FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball team grabs their second conference home win after a midweek clash with San Jose State at the Save Mart Center, 67-52.Â
Fresno State was flanked with two 'Dogs finishing the night on a 20-piece game. Emilia Long led the team with 22 points while Danae Powell saw 20 points. Indiya Clarke just shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.Â
How it happenedÂ
Danae Powell opened the scoring on a deep three joined by a jumper to start Fresno State off 5-0. Powell made a claim on the opening eight points for the Bulldogs. Spartans hit a 10-0 spurt to even with the 'Dogs until Powell hit her third shot from beyond the arc. Powell put up the first double-digit period with 11 points going 4-of-7 from the field and tacking on three 3PFG.Â
Bulldogs had a heavy hand in scoring in the second outscoring the Spartans 27-9, with six 'Dogs contributing. Fresno State held the Spartans at bay with a 15-1 run that lasted well over four minutes handing them a 23 point advantage by halftime. Emilia Long led the way with 11 points on another string of perfect shooting going 5-of-5 from the field and 1-of-1 from three.Â
