Bulldogs drop road contest to Lopes

Bulldogs' were handed 17 points from Danae Powell, 14 from Jaisa Gamble and Avery Watkins chipped in ten points. The Bulldogs won the battle off the glass out rebounding the Lopes, 39-26.
How it happened
Fresno State started up with a 3-0 run before the Lopes hit an equalizer. Fresno State stayed within striking distance behind a 17-point period from the hands of six Bulldogs. Lopes pulled away with a double-digit lead until a 6-0 run skimmed it back down to sit within four, 21-17.
'Dogs continued their run from the opening period, 10-0, responding strongly to the Lopes in the second quarter, 20-18. Fresno State snapped a three minute scoring drought to hand themselves back the lead, 30-28. That lead held through to the final minute and a half, but a 4-0 run by the Lopes held the deficit at two as halftime arrived, 39-37.
Fresno State delivered its strongest stretch after the break, limiting the Lopes to 12 points in the third quarter. 'Dogs capitalized on holding the Lopes scoreless for over five minutes. In those five minutes the 'Dogs hit a six-point scoring run and forced the Lopes to three turnovers. Bulldogs' hit a stride in the final two minutes with an 8-4 to take a lead entering the fourth, 53-51.
Fresno State stayed within reach through the first five minutes of the fourth holding it just within three, 63-60. From there, Grand Canyon closed the game on a 8-4 run, pulling away in the final four minutes to secure the win, 71-64.
