Mahoney back for more
The Bulldogs' lone returning All-American is back for her third year with the Bulldogs in Paris Mahoney. Mahoney is a two-time All-American, earning honorable mention in the flat in both seasons. With 17 career wins in the flat, she is seventh all-time in program history.
Reining lineup change
Fresno State's reining lineup will look a lot different this season, returning only two Bulldogs from a season ago. Alana Becker, who was 7-4-1 with an MOP, and Adrianna Runzo, who was 5-5-3 with an MOP, are the Bulldogs' two returners. Fresno State graduated Abby Goddard, Brogan Hill and Shelby Robinette.
Â
Horsemanship youngin'
A pair of second-year Bulldogs look to grow their game in year two. Maya Douglas and Margaret Meyer enter year two with a handful of collegiate rides under their belt. Meyer had one ride a season ago, and earned MOP on that ride. Douglas rode three times, falling in all three. Douglas did, however, get a ride in at the NCEA National Championship against No. 1 Auburn.
Â
A moment for the transfer
Fresno State added just one transfer this offseason in junior Eliza Plum. Plum, a standout western rider, joins the Bulldogs from UC Davis. She spent two seasons with the Aggies, earning eight total wins. Last season, she earned seven points in the horsemanship with two MOPs. She was a two-time ECAC Rider of the Month.
Â
A look ahead
Unlike most years, the Bulldogs open the season with three-straight conference meets. After its trip to Texas this week, Fresno State hosts Oklahoma State for its home opener next weekend. Parking and admission are free of charge at the Student Horse Center.Â
