Bulldogs pull away in Logan for fourth straight win

How it happenedÂ
Utah State opened with the upperhand on an eight-point scoring run, Danae Powell put the Aggies on a halt after securing the three point play on an and-1. Avery Watkins stepped to the charity line minutes later for a 1-of-1 showing. Fresno State put forth a 12-2 run in the last five minutes of the opening period to take their first lead, 12-10. Utah State knocked one more basket in to knot it up after ten minutes of play, 12-12.Â
Fresno State outscored Utah State 2-19 in the second, forcing a flurry of Utah State turnovers and converting them into easy looks. Eight Bulldogs got in on the scoring action with Danae Powell, Jaisa Gamble and Avery Watkins contributing four points each. Fresno State carried a 33-21 lead into halftime after a 14-2 run the last five minutes of the first half.
Utah State made a push out of the break, but Fresno State continued to answer with timely baskets pushing their lead up to as much as 17-points, 52-35. A 9-0 run had the Bulldogs reach their peak towards the end of the third period.Â
 Fresno State spent a majority of the final period at the foul line. The 'Dogs were near perfect, shooting 13-of-14 from the charity stripe. Djessira Diawara and Powell produced the only field goals of the final ten. Powell put forth two 3PFG and Diawara on the opening jumper. Fresno State held a comfortable double figure lead in the final minute after four appearances at the line, 73-59.
