Bulldogs drop conference opener to Aztecs

SAN DIEGO - The Fresno State women's tennis team dropped their conference road opener against No. 25 San Diego State on Friday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center, 4-0.Â
How it happenedÂ
San Diego State got ahead after taking the doubles point. Andjela Lopicic and Louna Cormier were able to win three games in their set, but ultimately fell (6-3). Sofia Pizzoni and Gianna Mastro were left unfinished at four games all.Â
Fresno State looked to battle back in singles play. The top singles flight wrapped first with Pizzoni taking a game in the first set. Mastro's match on court six was completed next (6-1, 6-0), the senior also earned a game in the first set. The match was called on court two with Lopicic falling in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Courts three, four and five were left unfinished. Dunbar left her match at three-all in the second set.Â
Up next: Fresno State will continue their time on the road for one more match this weekend, heading to Phoenix for No. 57 Grand Canyon on Sunday, Mar. 15 at 11 a.m. PT.Â
