PHOENIX – Fresno State fell 4-1 to Grand Canyon on Sunday morning at the GCU Tennis Facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
How It Happened
Grand Canyon took an early 1-0 lead after claiming wins on courts one and two in doubles. The Bulldogs' pairing of Gianna Mastro and Sofia Pizzoni was in an unfinished match on court three when the point was decided.
In singles play, Grand Canyon extended its lead with wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4, while Louna Cormier got Fresno State on the board at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over GCU's Duckett. Two other singles matches went unfinished, including Pizzoni's three-set battle on court one and Andjela Lopicic's match up on court three.
