How it happened
It took all three doubles matches to play through to grab the doubles point. Klara Vukicevic and Paulina Montiel posted a 6-3 win on court one, while Eliza Dunbar and Louna Cormier matched that score with a 6-3 victory on court two to clinch the opening point for Fresno State. New Mexico picked up the remaining doubles match on court three.
Fresno State added to its lead quickly in singles play. Sofia Pizzoni delivered a straight-set win on court one, defeating Vandeputte 6-1, 6-0. Eliza Dunbar followed with a 7-5, 7-6 win over Tsai on court four, and Montiel battled back for a three-set victory on court two, topping Corley 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.
New Mexico's lone team point came on court five, where Matsoukatidi defeated Vukicevic in straight sets. Two other singles matches were left unfinished. On court three, Andjela Lopicic was tied deep into the third set, while Cormier had pushed Malazdra into a tightly contested match on court six before play was halted.
