FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Softball team dropped the series meeting with UNLV in a 5-3 decision on Sunday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond.Â
How it happened Â
Fresno State had to work from behind after UNLV got on the board in the second on a two RBI homer. Bulldogs' knotted it up in the bottom of the second. Emma Martinez was then hit by a pitch to force in the game's first run, as Mallory Vancleave scored. Alyssa Rebolledo followed with an RBI to make it 2-0.
Lady Rebels took the lead in the third, taking advantage of a triple by and an error Fresno State to move in front 3-2. UNLV followed that up with another run in the fifth.Â
Bulldogs' made up ground again in the fifth when Jamie Hicks doubled to lead off the inning and later came around to score on an RBI single from Olivia Hill, trimming the deficit, 4-3. Final run of the game came from UNLV on their second homer of the afternoon in the sixth.Â
