Bulldogs outlast Spartans in extra innings

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Fresno State softball team rallied back, pushing it to extra innings against San Jose State at Spartan Softball Complex, 4-3.Â
How it happenedÂ
Fresno State opened with back-to-back runs in the first. Alyssa Rebolledo scored on a passed ball then Jamie Hicks followed to score, putting the 'Dogs up 2-0. San Jose State answered with two in the second and one more in the third to move in front 3-2.
Fresno State broke through again in the seventh to pull even with Elias as the equalizer. With a Spartan on second base, Jerzie Liana took away the Spartans' chance to close out at the bottom of the seventh with a line out. Going into extras, the eighth saw no movement as no batter made it one base.Â
Rylee Bocchini lit a spark for the 'Dogs hitting a triple, Elias followed it up with a single down right center as Bocchini made it home. Bulldogs' made quick work leaving two Spartans on base to call game.Â
